Windows binaries of GNU Wget
A command-line utility for retrieving files using HTTP, HTTPS and FTP protocols.Warning: some antivirus tools recognise wget-1.25.0-win32.zip as potentially dangerous. The file that triggers the warning is wget.exe.debug, which contains debugging symbols for wget.exe, and isn't even executable. If your AV is giving you trouble, and you don't need the documentation or debug symbols, you can download wget.exe directly, or switch to a less broken security product.
Security warning: wget version 1.21.4 and older from this page attempt to load system-wide configuration file from a subdirectory of C:\msys64 (the exact path depends on where I compiled the binary; for version 1.21.4, the path is C:\msys64\qemu\opt\misc{-x64|-i686}\etc\wgetrc. Since Windows lets any user create directories on the root of C: drive, this can lead to code execution through the use_askpass directive, which can lead to privilege elevation.
Version 1.25.0 avoids this problem by using C:\Windows\wgetrc (which is only writable to Administrators) as system-wide configuration file.
All of the binaries are compiled statically, meaning that wget.exe doesn't require any other files to work.
